Tofu toastie at Grown: West End’s own vegan-centric eatery is taking plant-based eating to new heights. Enjoy a tasty toastie? Grown’s got one, but not as you’ve ever tried. This sanga is filled with tofu, grilled pumpkin, capsicum, aioli and sesame cashew cheese. The whole menu is loaded with scrumptious eats, and Grown even does vegan degustation dinners that are well worth trying.
Cauliflower waffles at Little Clive: Annerley’s all-day breakfast hotspot pulls out all the stops for its vegan offering, with numerous dishes available to choose from. Our pick is the cauliflower waffles, which boasts sticky sesame cauliflower served with black puree and fried onion.
Vegan nachos at Green Edge: Nachos are the perfect sharing food, but we’d never judge anyone for ordering a serve of this scrumptious dish from Green Edge. Slow-roasted house made Mexican beans are spread over a bed of toasted corn chips, then topped with cheese, tomato salsa, avocado and sour cream.

Majdera at Naïm: Popular Paddington cafe Naïm eschews classic modern Australian brunch fare for a wholesome Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine. Vegans are easily catered for here, with the majdera sitting pretty as a stellar choice. This dish boasts sprouted seeds, cinnamon rice, lentils, onions, crispy chickpeas, carrot harissa and sumac hazelnut dukkah for an aromatic and flavoursome combo.
Vegan Chicago dog at Tippler’s Tap: Vegans can also snag, well, a snag when they head to Tippler’s Tap in South Bank. VBD Burger at MooFree Burgers: Standing for ‘Vegan Brothers Delight’, the VBD Burger is one of the best options on the menu at MooFree Burgers. This handful features a tasty beefless pattie, facon rashers, vegan cheeze, caramelised onion, pickles and mustard mayo.

Cavatelli with cashew cream at Gauge: South Brisbane’s home of cutting-edge cuisine amply caters to vegans and herbivores. We suggest this dish from the three-course menu – cavatelli, cashew cream, zucchini and black garlic. We’ve got a fever, and the only cure is this meal. No exaggerations, we promise.
Daal saagwala at It’s Mirchi Healthy Indian: Vegans needn’t be left out when your crew decide on Indian cuisine for the next group dinner – It’s Mirchi has got plenty to offer all comers.
