Brand-new day – Coffee Supreme gives its Gibbon Street spot a makeover

October 2016 saw Wellington-born coffee outfit Coffee Supreme open a delightful bricks-and-mortar cafe in the heart of Woolloongabba – a sunny spot that looked to make your day with the very first sip. The cafe formerly known as Day Made has been drawing in crowds ever since, but the roaster has chosen to start the new year by giving its Gibbon Street nook an aesthetic overhaul, a new name and a scrumptious menu update without losing any of its inviting charm.

Although it supplies coffee to numerous brunch hotspots around Brisbane such as nodo, Scout and Reverends, specialty coffee outfit Coffee Supreme has been looking to make a few changes to its own bricks-and-mortar cafe operations. Day Made – Coffee Supreme’s long-running Brisbane flagship cafe – has had an identity shift recently. As the roaster transitions to further spotlight its name, Day Made has been transformed into Coffee Supreme Gibbon Street. Those familiar with the space will notice a few cosmetic adjustments, including an expanded retail section and splashes of Coffee Supreme’s vibrant red colour palette, but Coffee Supreme Gibbon Street has retained the sunny vibes and minimalist furnishings, keeping it a casual cool spot to sip and snack.

Along with the venue shake up, Coffee Supreme Gibbon Street has also tweaked its menu. The succinct list includes toast topped with cinnamon sugar, Fix & Fogg crunchy peanut butter and banana, soft boiled eggs, heirloom tomatoes, zhoug and tahini, or avocado, labneh, chives and citrus. Complementing the menu is a selection of tasty treats from West End’s Alphabet Cafe. As for the coffee, the same great brew that locals have been relying on to perk up is still available. Coffee Supreme Gibbon Street offers a espresso-based and batch-brew coffee (plus the brand’s signature ‘Naughty Milk’ cold-coffee drink), made using Coffee Supreme’s seasonal blend and a selection of rotating single origins.
