Have your European cravings catered to by Deli by Dalton

It might be a little while before we are able to gallivant around Europe, eating our way across the continent and relishing in the gastronomic delights of some of the world's best food cultures. That doesn't mean we have to deprive our tastebuds of a culinary adventure. Jerome Dalton and the team at Dalton Catering are bringing the flavours of continental Europe to our homes and offices with Deli by Dalton – a next-day delivery catering service perfect for invoking the bliss of our sorely missed epicurean vacations.

It’s no secret that the pandemic wreaked havoc on our dining scene, but overshadowed by the plight of our restaurants, cafes and bars was the impact it had on our catering companies – the unheralded lifeblood that courses through nearly every moderate-to-large-scale celebration. Dalton Catering – an operation known for curating wondrous and luxurious foodie events – smartly navigated the tough times with a culinary pivot. The team launched an impressive selection of restaurant-quality ready-to-heat and ready-to-eat take-home meals, as well as a range of pickled and preserved products that elevated home-cooked meals across town. This idea snowballed and eventually morphed into Deli by Dalton – an online shop and delivery service that brings some of the tasty fare of European and New York delicatessens within easy reach.

Deli by Dalton’s range includes a host of morsels that can suit any occasion. Headlining the selection is Deli by Dalton’s catered Christmas centrepieces, which includes Christmas turkey with cranberry sauce, smoked Tasmanian salmon, glazed Christmas ham and even packs of moreish rum balls. Those that prefer a seafood-laden Christmas lunch can get hampers filled with fresh oysters, Queensland prawns, Yarra Valley salmon, caviar and sourdough with whipped cultured butter. Simpler heat-and-serve feasts are also available, with glazed and roasted venison shanks, braised beef cheeks, dry-aged crispy duck and sand-crab lasagne perfectly suited to feeding many mouths. Parties become a cinch with Deli by Dalton’s grazing boxes, each stuffed with the likes of salumi, charcuterie, firm and soft cheeses, pates and olives, while work functions can be enhanced with a range of gourmet sandwiches – think house-smoked Bendele Farm organic chicken, roasted truffle-honey pear with blue cheese, fresh local prawns with saffron aioli and katsu fried chicken with curry aioli. Apart from the cheese (which is sourced and ripened in Stafford by an artisan maître fromager), all of Deli by Dalton’s grazing boxes are 100 percent made and prepared in house. Finally, Deli by Dalton also stocks a selection of Euro wines – the kind of plonk that pairs well with any of the above meals.

Deli by Dalton’s chef-prepared options can be ordered online for next-day delivery within 20 km of Brisbane City. Hungry? Hit the website now to place an order.
