All pink everything – el’ rosa unveils its blush-hued wonderland

As you meander down James Street, it's pretty hard to miss the pink-washed Arc + Family. When the purveyor of pots moved in to its corner local in November last year, owner Ash Keily had a dream to transform the unused courtyard into a lush pink wonderland. Seven months later her vision has been realised – el' rosa has arrived.

The inspiration for el’ rosa’s fit-out came from Ash’s personal taste – the self-described girly-girl has always been drawn to the colour pink. Starting with nothing but a slice of grass and a timber fence, Ash and her husband Ben set to work to transform the space, and the result is indeed an homage to Ash’s favourite hue. Behind the James Street-facing pink-and-white lattice fence lies a pink wonderland, filled with quirky neon details, plush cushions, thatched umbrellas and – of course – tropical plants and cacti all housed in hand-painted Arc + Family pots.

el’ rosa will predominantly serve as a private event space, set up for bridal showers, engagements, birthday parties and more. The team is working closely with Sina’s Kitchen to offer custom drinks and catering packages for the space. Outside of hiring hours, the dreamy courtyard will be open to the public serving coffee and pink drinks Tuesday to Sunday.

el’ rosa officially opens to the public on Saturday July 7.
