Fonzie Abbott Espresso brings the beans to James Street

One of Brisbane’s favourite coffee roasters has now opened a second espresso bar in Fortitude Valley, offering up all-day snacks and perfect cups of joe.

Inhabiting a petite corner lot opposite Gerard’s Bistro and Scrumptious Reads, Fonzie Abbott Espresso’s newest cafe is fuelling Fortitude Valley worker bees with high-grade coffee sourced from around the globe. The sweet and fruity Highside blend is offered alongside a Blend of the Month and an ever-changing line-up of single origins, as well as bottles of Tomahawk coldpress, Royal Tea brews, fresh juices and shakes.

Sourcing, blending and roasting the beans themselves, the caffeine supply crew have opened the new cafe following the success of its older sibling in Hamilton. But while the coffee may be the star of the show, its edible accompaniments are very worthy supports. Peek in the cabinet for breakfast and lunch options like ham-and-cheese croissants; oat parfaits with Greek yoghurt and berries; lamb, fetta and tzatziki wraps; protein balls and paleo chocolate brownies. Home-brewers can also pick up beans by the bag.
