Food & Film: Good Things Await is a two-part experience that celebrates and explores the relationships between restaurants and suppliers. The evening begins with a free screening of the 2014 documentary Good Things Await, which follows the story of unconventional farmer Niels Stokholm – this quirky gent supplies produce to some of the top restaurants in the world, mind you. The film reveals the passion behind Niels’ holistic approach to food, as well as the struggles that go into producing incredible flavours and contented cows.
The second portion of the evening is a unique themed dinner being held in the GOMA Restaurant, with the menu developed by executive chef Josue Lopez. Fittingly, Josue is an alumnus of the noma family – a restaurant that Niels supplies to. Talk about keeping it tight! Josue will speak about the care QAGOMA restaurants take to source local produce and build relationships with farming communities in southeast Queensland. This is a chance to truly learn about the paddock-to-plate ethos while dining on the delicious food that results from it.
The screening of Good Things Await is free, and you can purchase tickets to the special dinner here.
