Good Food Month drops the first glimpse of its tasty 2018 program

Every July, Brisbane eaters break free from their mid-winter hibernation to celebrate Good Food Month. With only weeks remaining until Good Food Month hits the eateries of Brisbane on Sunday July 1, our bellies have been rumbling impatiently for news of what to expect. The first announcement of the 2018 program has arrived, bringing word of pasta parties, gourmet surf and turf dinners and the ever-popular Night Noodle Markets.

In big news for Brisbane foodies, Good Food Month presented by Citi has revealed the first part of its 2018 program. Spearheading today’s announcement is the news of the return of fan-favourite event the Night Noodle Markets, which will transform South Bank’s Cultural Forecourt into a bustling hawker-style market filled with heady aromas and seductive tastes from Wednesday July 25 through to Sunday August 5. A choice list of vendors has already been announced, including the likes of Zagyoza, Bao Brothers, Donburi Station, Hoy Pinoy, Little Red Dumpling, Phat Elephant, N2 Gelato and Black Star Pastry, with many more to come.

The first three events of Good Food Month’s feature events program have also been revealed, serving as a taster of the main course to come. On Saturday July 7, settle into the lavish surrounds of Walter’s Steakhouse for surf ‘n turf lunch event Ocean Prime, where Walter’s chefs Adam Herbert and Nigel Stanley will be pairing some sublime dry-aged prime beef with moreish Moreton Bay bugs. James Street’s Italian icon Bucci will be hosting a pasta party on Thursday July 12, where Bucci head chef Shaun Malone and Icebergs Dining Room & Bar’s own Monty Koludrovic will team up to serve a four-course dinner made with old-world traditions and new-school techniques. The Young Chefs Lunch is also making a return this year, with ARIA head chef Ben Russell overseeing a crack team of Brisbane’s rising culinary talent as they prepare a four-course lunch to remember in ARIA’s own kitchen. Guests will be able to witness the likes of young guns Brad Cooper (Gauge), Savannah Sexton (Stokehouse Q), Sean Hwang (ARIA) and Georgina Phillips (e’cco Bistro) in their element.

Tickets for these events are already on sale through the Good Food Month website, with further additions to the program set to be announced in the coming weeks.
