Over the past couple of years Pacific Fair and Surfers Paradise have each been blessed with eateries that specialise in cuisine that wouldn’t be out of place in the streets of Athens. For those that haven’t had the pleasure, allow us to introduce you to Greek Street Grill. This fast-casual eatery comes highly recommended by our Gold Coast friends, and now we are chuffed to say that the concept has finally arrived at the Gasworks’ thriving food precinct. Boasting a fresh look reminiscent of the whitewashed houses of Santorini, Greek Street Grill has occupied a spacious nook near Kivahan and The Farm Wholefoods, dishing up a host of Greek eats that have us salivating.
When we think of Greek street food, our minds automatically go to the three S’s – skewers, souvlaki and salads. Greek Street Grill has got all three covered, with a range of souvlaki wraps stuffed to bursting point with lamb, chicken and pork gyros, as well as felafel and haloumi. The ‘Grilla’ selection offers plates of shaved and skewered meats served with fries and pita, while a selection of salads mix fresh ingredients with mouth-watering Mediterranean dressings. We can’t be certain, but we’re pretty sure the phrase, ‘go hard or go home’ originated in ancient Greece. Greek Street Grill’s signature platters give you a bit of everything, with the Greek Feast serving up an Olympian-sized serve of gyros, kalamaki, pita breads and dips. For those that have worked up a thirst, Greek Street Grill serves Greek beers Fix and Mythos (as well as some local craft brews), plus wine, Greek-style frappes, coffee and soft drinks.
Don’t lie – we know you’re curious (and maybe a little bit hungry). Greek Street Grill is open now. Find out more in the Stumble Guide.
