US app inKind set to make eating out a whole lot more fun

Imagine gliding in to your favourite local restaurant, where your drink of choice and freshly prepared meal are waiting for you at your table. Welcome to the new era of dining.

Following a successful pilot program in Brisbane last year, US app inKind has now officially launched in Australia, heralding a bold new way of dining out at more than 50 restaurants and cafes across the country. Local haunts Rogue Bistro, Special Rub, Remy’s, Hai Hai Ramen, King Tea and Superfly Funk Eye are all involved, giving their loyal foodies the chance to be treated like VIP guests. The app harnesses innovative tech to elevate your dining experience and bring a new level of personalisation to the process. Based on a loyalty program, diners essentially purchase prepaid credit (known as House Accounts) to use at their preferred cafe or restaurant, and receive bonus credit as a friendly perk.

The inKind app then invites customers to share their dining preferences, including your favourite menu items and dietary requirements, while beacon technology can also alert the restaurant when you arrive. First launched in Washington DC by tech guru and restaurant investor Johann Moonesinghe, inKind also benefits the local hospitality industry by offering cash upfront without having to manage a loan – particularly useful when a venue is planning to expand or overhaul their menu. House Accounts never expire and bonus credit is valid for three years.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Brisbane dining guide with more than 2400 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
