While riverside precinct Howard Smith Wharves may still be in its infancy, it has already become one of the most popular spots to dine amongst Brisbane foodies. That trend isn’t likely to stop any time soon, especially following the news that former Good Food Guide’s Young Chef of the Year Louis Tikaram will be manning the pans at anticipated Cantonese restaurant and bar Stanley. While the eatery is still several weeks away from opening, Louis will be giving curious diners the chance to sample Stanley’s fare early via a one-off pop-up dinner later this month.

Stanley’s menu is expected to feature a tasty cross-section of local seafood, barbecue and roast meats, with each aspect prepared in a traditional Cantonese style. Louis’s one-off menu will reportedly feature a healthy mixture of these dishes – more than enough to stoke the fires of excitement in our bellies. The spread will feature dishes like Peking duck pancakes, free-range crispy Bangalow pork belly, whole giant grouper with ginger, shallot and white soy, pippies in XO sauce on crispy egg noodles, yellowfin-tuna sashimi, and helpings of Stanley’s own signature steamed dim sum and special fried rice. Accompanying the feast will be flowing champagne and wine, as well as beer from Felons Brewing Co.
