Following in the footsteps of Brisbane City eateries esquire and The Survey Co., Paddington’s Margo and Petrie Terrace’s Burnt Ends and Nativo Kitchen & Bar, McLachlan Street restaurant Madame Rouge Bar + Bistro has shuttered. Marking the latest scalp in 2018’s succession of closures, the French-inspired M&A Lane restaurant halted operations after final service last weekend, despite earning a chef’s hat in 2017 and favourable reviews.
In a statement to the media, owner and operator Mary Randles thanked Madame Rouge’s customer base for their support, before advising that the team had elected to not renew its lease on the space. Mary went on to note that her attention would be given to e’cco bistro in Newstead, where her and her partner Philip Johnson would be working on some new additions to be revealed in the coming months.
