Make any excuse to check out New Farm’s new local Miss Jones

Have you met Miss Jones? The hospo heroes behind New Farm’s Little Loco have gone two-for-two with their new cafe Miss Jones – a beautiful pastel-tinted eatery that is making brunch a far more colourful experience. If you’re after a new spot to nourish your eyes and stomach, all you have to say is, “Excuse me, Miss” and Miss Jones will take care of you.

For the past two years the Brisbane brunch community has being going absolutely bonkers over Little Loco on Merthyr Road in New Farm (it was even awarded top honours in the Best Cafe category in last year’s EAT/drink Awards). If you count yourself amongst the horde of fans that fill up seats every weekend, then we thought you should know that as of today – Tuesday June 20 – Little Loco’s owners Daniel and Hannah Bowles have opened a second cafe on Brunswick Street. Let us introduce you to Miss Jones – an effortlessly charming and stylish noshery that features an eye-pleasing pastel colour scheme, Scandinavian-like minimalism and a clean-cut aesthetic. Miss Jones is much more than a conceptual extension of Little Loco – Daniel and Hannah have chosen to take a more grown-up approach to service and style across breakfast and lunch.

Fans of Little Loco will already find a lot to like on the menu, but newcomers should know that the food offering is comprised of locally sourced goods, plated with a fresh and playful slant. Must-try day starters include the eggs benedict with hash and cheddar waffles topped with avocado, chorizo, chipotle hollandaise and poached eggs, the blueberry and vanilla waffles with honeycomb ice-cream, peanut brittle and creme anglaise, and the green breakfast, which is loaded with spinach, broccolini, kale, quinoa, dukkah, pumpkin and haloumi. Once lunch arrives, the kitchen starts serving up corn and chorizo tacos, kewpie chicken burgers, and roast pumpkin and beetroot salads. Miss Jones also whips up super shakes, ruby chai lattes, Heirloom hot chocolate, tea, HRVST ST cold-pressed juices and coffee from Surry Hills roaster Single O.

Miss Jones is now open on Brunswick Street. Check it out in the Stumble Guide to find opening hours and location information.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Brisbane dining guide with more than 2400 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
