Only a couple of weeks after Corbett & Claude opened at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre’s Station Road Dining precinct, Mr. Claude and Corbett & Claude Brisbane City will be opening their doors in the building that inspired the group of eateries. The cafe and restaurant are housed beneath the historic Corbett Chambers building on Elizabeth Street, which was once home to a bar and dining hall for the Commercial Travellers Association. The two venues have embraced this history, creating spaces where groups can gather over good food, drink and conversation from morning through to late evening.
Positioned at the end of the laneway, Mr. Claude is set to open its doors to the public on Tuesday September 15. The sunken cafe features polished concrete floors and sleek finishes, with a long communal table running down the length of the space. Mr. Claude has a number of grab-and-go options, including house-made cold-pressed juices and smoothies, make-your-own fruit crumble bowls, gourmet sandwiches, toasts, muffins and more. Sweet tooths can munch on gluten-free nodo donuts, treats from local Rawr Foods and indulgent hot chocolates – you’ll be presented a mug of hot milk with a New Farm Confectionery hot-chocolate stick to stir in, with flavours such as honeycomb and freeze-dried raspberries. Yeah, you heard us.
Next door, Corbett & Claude will offer much the same menu as its Indooroopilly sibling, with share plates, charcuterie boards, pizzas and desserts. The Brisbane City space has a stronger bar focus, with the venue centring around an impressive island bar with an abundance of beer and wine on tap. Corbett & Claude Brisbane City is set to open on Friday September 18.
