Howard Smith Wharves announces overwater bar Mr Percival’s

The time has almost come – the highly anticipated Howard Smith Wharves is due to open at the end of this month. Thursday November 29 will see the opening of the precinct's second venue and crowning jewel, its octagonal-shaped overwater bar, that has just been named Mr Percival's.

Mr Percival’s has been designed with Brisbane’s incredible year-round weather in mind, branching out over the Brisbane River beneath the iconic Story Bridge. Everything from the elevated watering hole’s architectural framework right down to its logo has been informed by the incredible Anna Spiro Design, taking inspiration from dreamy European beach clubs and the octagonal rotundas that decorate Brisbane’s lush parks. The bar will ooze endless-summer vibes, seamlessly blending the indoor and outdoor spaces adorned with the likes of striking green tiling, salmon-pink umbrellas and constellation details – a nod to sailors navigating their path home with the night sky.

While cocktails will of course be a feature at Mr Percival’s, the waterside spot will also cater to those with an appetite. In addition to the bar’s name, Howard’s Smith Wharves has also announced Mr Percival’s head chef, Damien Styles. Damien was formerly at Burleigh Heads’ institution The Fish House, which earned one hat over two consecutive years with him at the helm. Similar to Mr Percival’s design aesthetic, the menu will take inspiration from the Mediterranean with aperitivo-style snacks – think lobster rolls, whipped cod roe served with warm baguette and fried zucchini fritters.

Mr Percival’s is due to open on Thursday November 29, followed by the likes of Stanley, Toko Brisbane and Greca in early December. Keep an eye on The Weekend Edition for updates!
