Naldham House has been an eye-catching fixture of the inner-city since it was initially built in 1864 – its classical rendered-brick facade remaining an enduring landmark as Eagle Street Pier and Waterfront Place grew and rose around it. The heritage-listed building, which sits at the meeting point of Eagle, Mary and Market Streets, is set to commence a fresh chapter under new stewardship. Dexus Property Group has announced a partnership with DAP & Co. – the Brisbane-based hospitality group founded by restaurateur Andrew Baturo and music industry figures Paul Piticco and Denis Sheahan – for a restoration project that will see Naldham House restored to its former grandeur and reintroduced as a top-notch dining and entertainment addition to Dexus’s anticipated Waterfront Brisbane project.
Prior to Dexus’s purchase of the building in 2016, Naldham House was home to an assortment of businesses. Beginning life as a shipping office, Naldham House was most recently the premises of Brisbane Polo Club – a private club and conference destination that wound up in 2015. Although the DAP & Co. crew is keeping tight-lipped on the details of its revitalisation efforts, works are expected to respect the structure’s historical significance and existing architectural charm. Stay tuned for updates on this development as it progresses!
