Just when you thought you couldn’t possibly fit another tantalising bite from Good Food Month’s buffet of events, along comes the main course. Suddenly we’re loosening our belts and praying for a second wind in anticipation for the Night Noodle Markets. The crown jewel of Good Food Month’s packed calendar never fails to yield an impressive array of Asian-inspired eats, with a lively hawker style atmosphere proving to be the perfect setting for bulk street food consumption.
Among the 20 vendors on call for 2018 are favourites like Bao Brothers, Bangkok Street Food, Black Star Pastry, Gelato Messina, Donburi Station, Grumpy G’s Kitchen, POKLOL, Puffle, Waffleland, Zagyoza and Phat Elephant (plus many more). This year, the menu is chock-a-block with an assortment of creative and colourful bites, from Gelato Messina’s deep-fried gelato katsu sandwich and Black Star Pastry’s strawberry watermelon cake, to Little Kyoto’s Vietnamese pho-filled burritos and Puffle’s bulgogi beef and Philly cheesesteak cheese puffle. If you can tear yourself away from the food, Brand’s Laira will also be opening a pop-up cellar door to showcase a range of delicious drops from South Australia’s Coonawarra wine region.
The Night Noodle Markets are a cashless event, and will be running from Wednesday July 25 to Sunday August 5.
