Walter’s Steakhouse celebrates the best of land and sea with Ocean Prime long lunch

Walter’s Steakhouse celebrates the best of land and sea with Ocean Prime long lunch

If you grew up in Australia and ever glanced upon a pub menu, chances are you would be familiar with a little old concept called surf’n’turf. It’s and old-school staple built around the fusing of two culinary worlds – seafood and steak, together at last! While the versions of this dish that you remember from your childhood might leave little to be desired, rest assured that this concept has legs when executed correctly. As part of Good Food Month, Walter’s Steakhouse is playing host to Ocean Prime, a long lunch bringing the best of land and sea together on a plate.

When it comes to a perfect place to instigate and host Ocean Prime, it doesn’t get much better than Walter’s Steakhouse. The old-world gem has been causing quite the stir since it opened back in March, thanks in large part to a combination of sterling food and unbeatable hospitality. Everything from the intricate timber bar to the red-leather booth seating imbues a sense of New York cool, and this is before you’ve even tasted the steaks.

Now that we’ve set the scene, let’s talk about exactly what you will experience at Ocean Prime. Walter’s chefs Adam Herbert and Nigel Stanley have expertly curated this luxe long lunch, taking their famous in-house dry aged prime beef and adding the freshest Moreton Bay bugs into the mix. Guests will be greeted with a cocktail on arrival before sitting down to the main event of melt-in-your-mouth steak and ocean-fresh bugs. To top it all off, the lunch will be accompanied by matched wines from the Brands Laira range.

Has this reeled you in? You can purchase tickets to Ocean Prime through the Good Food Month website.
