High tea gets elevated – Perrier-Jouët launches its Art of the Wild event series

One of France's famed boutique champagne houses is kicking off a month-long multi-sensory art and culinary series this week when it takes over part of the Emporium Hotel in South Bank. The Art of the Wild champagne garden pop-up program is flush with artisanal experiences, establishing The Terrace's VIP dining room as the place to be for gourmet high teas, dessert tastings, painting masterclasses and champagne sampling.

September is the month where Brisbane shows its true colours. Alongside Brisbane Festival’s jam-packed program, BIGSOUND takes over The Valley and the Brisbane Writers Festival shapes minds over at the Cultural Precinct. Emporium Hotel at South Bank is also getting into the celebratory spirit, linking up with one of France’s most historic champagne houses Maison Perrier-Jouët for Art of the Wild – a collection of luxury art and champagne-fuelled experiences between Thursday September 12 and Sunday October 13. An exclusive VIP dining room sequestered near The Terrace has been transformed into a vivid, colour-saturated champagne garden, taking inspirational cues from nature and art to create an immersive dialogue between champagne, art and cuisine.

Across the month-long celebration, the Art of the Wild champagne garden will host a bevy of events, each served with some incredible skyline views. On Monday, Thursday, Friday and weekend afternoons, guests will be able to pop in for some champagne tasting, sampling the likes of Perrier-Jouët’s Grand Brut, the Blason Rosé, its Blanc de Blanc and the Belle Époque Blanc 2012. Gourmet bites such as rock oysters with raspberry vinegar granita, cheese and charcuterie boards, truffle fries, zucchini blossoms, kingfish ceviche and Eton Mess magnums will also be available. Every Saturday and Sunday, folks can sign up for a bespoke Art of the Wild high-tea experience, which features three tiers of mouth-watering delights crafted by Emporium Hotel’s executive sous chef, Alex Norman. Think dessert Belle-a-Ron, Emporium blend tea-soaked sultana scones and two hours of free-flowing Grand Brut. The decadent experiences don’t stop there – Alex Norman and Emporium Hotel’s head sommelier Antoine Heurtier have collaborated on a dessert tasting menu (available every Tuesday night), featuring three hand-crafted desserts paired with three flutes of Perrier-Jouët’s non-vintage cuvees. Rounding out the festivities is Perrier-Jouët’s special Wild Paint & Taste masterclass that offers a tasteful intersection of champagne, art and food. Guests can immerse themselves in live painting activations hosted by renowned artists including wildlife watercolourist Paul Margocsy and cartoonist Sean Leahy. Indulge your creative side every Wednesday evening while enjoying artisanal canapes and, of course, free-flowing champagne.
