Reid Street Kitchen is all about humour, quirkiness and eating cake. With signs like ‘Dear Diamond, We all know who is really a girl’s best friend … Yours sincerely, Chocolate Cake’ and ‘All fat free … if consumed whilst running flat out on the treadmill’ poking from the top of oversized lamingtons, the light heartedness of these sisters is evident.
Reid Street Kitchen was inspired by what Liz and Emma grew up with as kids, highlighted by their nan’s, granny’s and mum’s cooking. Value for money was high on the agenda, which is what inspired the massive lamingtons as well as giving back something to market and event goers that might be reminiscent of their childhood. Reid Street Kitchen does lamingtons with a twist, with flavours including raspberry white chocolate, passionfruit white chocolate, salted caramel and Jaffa, as well as original. Sweet tooths will delight in finding mini cakes, slices, cheesecakes, mousses and Eton mess also on the menu.
The sisters are always reinventing and creating, so much so that they set aside a regular day in their Southport kitchen to create new treats to keep their loyal followers and new crowds interested. All Reid Street Kitchen cakes and desserts are baked from scratch and ingredients are sourced locally and seasonally where possible.
Reid Street Kitchen sets up stall at the Jan Powers Queen Street and Mitchelton Markets in Brisbane, Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast as well as various events including the upcoming Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.
