Get the scoop on Sanctuary Cove’s new frozen dessert den Rosé Gelateria

Just because winter has set in doesn't mean we suddenly stop craving cones overflowing with deliciously creamy gelato – no siree. If you too are fond of frozen treats all year round, say ciao to Sanctuary Cove's newest sweet-treat dispensary, Rosé Gelateria. With dreamy rose-hued French-washed walls juxtaposed against crisp white bench seating, brushed-gold accents and plush velvet cushions, the space is awe-inspiringly beautiful. Aesthetics aside, we all know it’s what’s inside that counts and trust us when we say – this place is the goods. Here's the scoop on this pretty and tasty newcomer ...

If you think that all gelato is created equal, you’d be mistaken. True gelato connoisseurs appreciate there’s a myriad of factors that affect the all-important end result, something that the owners of Rosé Gelateria know all too well. The local couple spent countless hours (days, weeks, months) taste-testing the goods from some of the country’s finest frozen dessert artisans until they eventually narrowed it down to two to grace the Rosé scoop counter – Everest and Delizia Gelato and Sorbet. Offering a mouth-watering array of 24 flavours such as the people-pleasing choc hazelnut (yum!) and a magnificent rock-salt caramel through to more unusual creations including Italian pistachiorum-and-raisin and licorice, Rosé Gelareria’s range is vast and constantly evolving. Dairy-free and plant-based pals aren’t left out in the cold, as there are seven vegan-friendly options to lick including a surprisingly creamy vegan mascarpone with hints of fig and a zesty lemon sorbet. Feeling adventurous? Go ahead and order a decadent maca-rose creation, which is topped with a chewy macaron. The mango, lemon and berry combination is a taste sensation.

Alongside gelato, Rosé Gelateria also stocks a stunning selection of buttery pastries, bagels and smooshy macarons by Mark Daniels Patisserie at Robina. The coffee is sourced from Supreme Coffee Roasters in Yatala – hot tip, if you like it hot and cold, you simply must try the affogato! The eye-catching brushed-gold shelves are stocked with a delightful array of goods including Mayde Tea, Mr. Consistent and New Farm Confectionery, to name a few. Come weekends, there will also be freshly baked bread available. If you had picked up on a theme here, you’d be right – Rosé Gelateria is all about supporting local artisans and makers. Coincidentally the stunning space opened its doors just in time for the busiest weekend on The Marine Village’s calendar, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, and with hordes of happy locals all singing its praise, you know it’s the real deal.
