Trade in those home-charred beef sausos in white bread and let the professionals put a gourmet spin on the humble dish when you treat the family to a feed at South Bank’s Sausage & Beer Festival next month. Let your nostrils lead the way to the Little Stanley Street Southern Lawns, where you’ll find an assortment of specially made sausages from around the world, cooked up by some of South Bank’s favourite venues including The Charming Squire, Tai Tai, Hop & Pickle, Fritzenberger, Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers, Brooklyn Depot, Shysh, Baba Ganouj and Tippler’s Tap.
The Charming Squire will play host and give you a chance to sample a variety of international twists on the old favourite, from a British-style Cumberland sausage with Branston pickle to a makanek Lebanese sausage with pomegranate molasses and lemon, a pork and cheese kransky with pickled chilli and even a wild boar and kangaroo option with rosella relish. Wash your sampler platter down with a selection from The Charming Squire’s pop-up craft beer and cider bar, and enjoy live music from local artists. The ticketed event will offer a range of two-hour session times across November 7–8 – reserve your preferred session by booking tickets here.
