They say that cream often rises to the top, and sometimes so do great bars. Sixteen Antlers is a new rooftop locale that is perched atop the Pullman Hotel, offering unparalleled views of the city and surrounds while also showcasing a range of tasty tapas and classy cocktails.

The space
Enter the Pullman Hotel through its Roma Street or Ann Street entrance and seek out the elevator near KG Bar. Hit the button for level 16 and be transported to an inner-city oasis situated far above the inner-city bustle. Sixteen Antlers boasts a spacious and fresh fit-out with plenty of couch or stool seating for groups, potted greenery and stunning views of the iconic City Hall clock tower and beyond to the city skyline. Shades provide protection from the elements and the wrap-around bar offers plenty of space to catch the bartender’s eye.

The food and drinks
After picking up a cocktail, wine, tap or bottled beer from the bar and selecting the perfect position to take in the city views, patrons can browse a menu of sharable plates. Sixteen Antlers offers a range of small dishes through its Tapastry by Pullman menu – a selection of bites to adorn your table with, fit for tracing your tastebuds across a range of intricate flavours. Options such as truffled mushroom arancini, barramundi spring rolls, salt-and-pepper pork belly and prawn brochette, and marinated salmon crackers feature in the Tapastry offering, though patrons can also extend their selections to a range of mini brioche sliders filled with the likes of Southern-style buttermilk chicken, tempura soft-shell crab and blackened lamb. An artisan cheese and cured meat selection is also available, allowing patrons to mix and match blues, cheddars and buffalos with salami, bresaola and prosciutto.

The details
In the coming months, Sixteen Antlers will open up a new portion of the rooftop boasting a pool and an extended bar, which will give patrons the chance to take in near 360-degree views of the city. Sixteen Antlers is currently open to the public for its soft launch, but expect the official launch to make waves in the next few weeks.
