Deale Stanley-Hunt is a self-described newcomer to the world of brewing, in eight months he has managed to make Slipstream Brewing Co. into one of Brisbane’s most exciting breweries. After establishing his brewery in the heart of Yeerongpilly at the beginning of 2017, Deale and head brewer Ian Watson started working on his pilot recipes for Slipstream’s core range of hop-driven, American-inspired beers, which hit the market in June. Now that everything is up and running, Deale turned his attention to the remainder of the space, which has been set aside for a cellar door and bar where each of Slipstream’s brews are available off tap.
Slipstream Brewing Co.’s bar features ten taps, seven of which are currently pouring the brewery’s four core range of beers and its first batch of seasonal brews. Popular pours include a pilsner, XPA, IPA and rye pale ale, which are bolstered by drops such as an American brown ale, a stronger IPA and an American red ale and Witches Falls wine from Mount Tamborine. The space has been designed to be casual, relaxed, family and dog friendly. Slipstream Brewing Co. also welcomes a different food truck every day it is open, so those feeling peckish will be able to sip and snack all evening. Once you’ve sampled Slipstream’s range of flavours, fill up a growler or squealer to take home, or grab a pack of the brewery’s canned beers – the Magic Mile extra pale ale and Billy Cart rye pale ale.
