King of the Wings announces culinary collective StrEAT Easy Diner & Bar

Calling all food truck fanatics – we've got some news you'll want to sit down for. Brisbane's preeminent chicken-wing outfit King of the Wings has just announced it is spearheading a new bricks-and-mortar street-eat collective coming to Deception Bay in mid-to-late October. StrEAT Easy Diner & Bar is bringing together a bunch of the city's best under one roof, giving locals the chance to savour a variety of fare alongside a bar pouring gallons of craft beer.

Back in June, the King of the Wings crew published an image on Facebook that got tongues wagging. The picture featured hard hats, a venue visibly under construction, some knowing smiles and the caption “something special in the works…” – it was enough to send King of the Wings fanatics into an excited tailspin. After months without updates, King of the Wings’ Dylan and Katrina Pires have finally shed light on the concept they’ve been working – a multi-faceted eatery and bar called StrEAT Easy. According to Dylan himself, the idea for an all-in-one venue (similar in ethos to The Collective in Palm Beach) has been in the works for more than two years, and was born out of a desire to bring various street cuisines under one roof and also provide an all-weather option for vendors that typically rely on clear skies to operate. Located in Deception Bay – just three minutes from Costco North Lakes – StrEAT Easy is in the process of transforming a former VideoEZY into a 120-seat eatery featuring a bar and four built-in shipping-container kitchens capable of housing various culinary outlets.

King of the Wings will be setting up shop at StrEAT Easy Diner & Bar as one of the featured vendors, and will be joined at launch by the likes of Flavours Of Eataly, That Greek Truck and frozen-yoghurt dispensary Yo-Get-It. As for the drinks, StrEAT Easy’s bar will be pouring craft brews from the likes of Green Beacon BrewingBrendale Brewing Co. and more. The space is still in the building stage, but Dylan has also revealed that the venue will feature eye-catching Instagrammable murals on the walls, while a drive-through will be added down the line for those seeking a feed while on the move. StrEAT Easy will be open for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Sunday – we’ll have a closer look for you once it opens in October.
