Get in our bellies – what to devour and drink at this month’s Teneriffe Festival

Each passing day this month marks another day closer to Teneriffe Festival, which will be bringing live beats, kick-ass drinks and a stellar selection of street fare to Teneriffe on Saturday May 28. To get you licking your lips in anticipation, we've assembled a hit list of dynamite eats that you can tuck in to on the day. Read on for more delicious details ...

Sip icy-cold brewskis from Last Man Standing
Keen to blow the froth off a few boozy brews? Last Man Standing’s pop-up bar at Teneriffe Festival has got your back. Brewed right here in Brisbane (and, fun fact, founded by the two sons of the late Australian Wallaby Roydon Prosser, Damian and Stephen, and Australia’s first Winter Olympic gold medallist Steven Bradbury OAM), Last Man Standing offers a refreshing, crisp and full-flavoured lager that will tempt taste buds of beer lovers visiting the festival.

Wrap your mitts around some gourmet sliders from Botany
After their successful debut at last year’s festival, Botany will be returning with their crowd-pleasing sliders packed with your choice of succulent Moreton Bay bug or crispy buttermilk chicken, then finished off with a dash of spicy mayo. Those feeling extra peckish can indulge in Botany’s luscious porcini mushroom arancini and kipfler potato raclette with bacon and onion. You won’t be leaving the festival hungry, that’s for sure.

Lap up delicious snacks from Siffredi’s Spaghetti BarRita’s Tequila and Taqueria and Zero Fox
A trio of Teneriffe tried-and-true locales – Siffredi’s, Rita’s and Zero Fox – have joined forces to curate an exclusive menu for the festival, which will transport taste buds to countries and continents afar like Mexico, Italy and Asia. You’ll be able to dig in to the likes of crispy bug bao burgers, sticky chilli-pork tacos, fresh oysters with tangy lemon dressing and Italian spaghetti with chorizo and pangrattato.

Quench your thirst with tasty tipples from the Triffid Stage Bar
A meal isn’t complete without a sip to help wet your whistle with and thankfully for those attending this year’s Teneriffe Festival, there’s no lack of delicious drinks on offer. After you’ve boogied to the jam-packed entertainment line-up (hello, Ben Lee!), visit the Triffid Stage Bar for a cheeky tipple – whether your beverage of choice is a full-bodied vino or a refreshing cocktail, you’ll be well and truly sorted.

Step it up with foot-long fries from Wagyu Blacks
We’re always fanging for a bowl of chips – it’s safe to say that we can never get enough of our favourite potato-based treats! If you share our undying love and deep passion for hot chippies, then we’ve got some pretty spectacular news for you – Wagyu Blacks Japanese-inspired foot-long chips will be making an appearance at this year’s Teneriffe Festival alongside a mouth-watering selection of flavour-packed wagyu meats. We’ll never look at regular fries the same again.

Get your iron fix with slow-cooked meat from Mr Pulled
Calling all curious carnivores! If you’re anything like us, then your idea of heaven involves a towering table filled with a never-ending supply of smoky, sweet, slow-cooked meat. Mr Pulled will be making your culinary dreams come true very soon with its melt-in-your-mouth slow-cooked meats offering. Its must-try brisket is slow cooked for 12 hours before its served in a fluffy bun and finished with cheddar-cheese sauce. We’re drooling already.

Grab a slice of vegan pizza from Piante
Now that we’ve covered carnivores, it’s only natural that we tell you about some of the salivation-inducing plant-based bites that you can tuck into. Our favourite? Piante’s 100-percent plant-based Napoli pizza, which can be topped with vegan delights like mushrooms and cured-meat alternatives. Come May 28, we know where we will be getting a slice of heaven.

Carb it up with a festival-favourite Potato Slinky
The humble potato on a stick is making its much-hoped-for return to Teneriffe Festival this year and our tummies are grumbling in anticipation! The classic Potato Slinky is sure to put a smile on the dials of kids and kids-at-heart alike with its nostalgic charm and classic taste that will have you reminiscing on the good ol’ days.

Feast on oodles of noodles with Teppanyaki Noodles
We’re always eager to slurp up a bowl of noodles, so that’s why we’re elated to learn that one of Japan’s best known street foods – yakisoba noodles – will be making its way to the streets of Teneriffe this May. Sizzling, smoky noodles smothered in taste bud-tempting sweet-and-salty sauce then finished off with all of the fixings, this is one dish worthy of adding to your culinary bucket list.

Sample wordly wines at the Riverside UnWINEd Garden
Those who fancy a tipple with a side of live jazz can imbibe worldy wines whilst indulging in waterfront views at the Riverside Wine Garden. Relax under the trees, enjoy some live tunes and sample smooth reds and
sparkling whites from some of the world’s best wine regions, both local and abroad. That’s where you’ll find us on Saturday May 28.

Tickets for Teneriffe Festival are on sale right now! You can grab yours now via Oztix and if you hurry, you’ll be able to snag group passes for $50, which will secure entry for yourself and three friends. Time to hit the group chat and keep your calendar clear for one fun-filled day out on Saturday May 28.
