Social distancing, slathering your mitts in hand sanitiser and shelves emptied of stock – a trip to your local bottle-o just isn't the same as it used to be. "But where will I stock up on my favourite grape juice?", you ask. Well, we have the answer. Brought to us from the team behind Lo-Fi Wines and Das Juice, The Borough Box is a new natural-wine delivery service dropping the goods straight to your door.

With social distancing measures in full effect coupled with reports that wine and beer stock were running low, Lo-Fi Wines directors and well-versed sommeliers James Audas and Tom Sheer decided to launch their new monthly natural-wine subscription The Borough Box a little bit earlier than expected. The home-delivered boxes feature a specially curated collection of some of the rarest, high-quality natural wines around – with a new selection hand-picked by James and Tom each month. The box will feature a variety of sustainable, organic and biodynamic wines from both homegrown vineyards and further afar, with a focus on small-batch viticulturists. Think Aussie picks like Good Intentions Wine Co, Das Juice and Jauma, while some Euro favourites set to make an appearance include drops from French winemakers Matassa, Italian project Lammidia and Austrian winery Gut Oggau.

A non-committal monthly subscription to this very special bundle of booze will set you back $180. This price tag will secure you a total of six wines – one or two white wines, one maceration (skin contact/amber), one rosé, a couple of reds and if you’re lucky, a sparkling — though the exact makeup will vary from month to month. Each bottle comes with an explanatory inscription telling the tale of its origin, ingredients and tasting notes – so you’ll walk away with a newfound knowledge of some of the most exciting natural wines on the market. Delivery (which is free) will be on the first Monday of every month – now that’s something to look forward to. Plus, if you are self-isolating, you can request a no-contact delivery and have your wine delivered to a safe place.

To secure yourself a monthly subscription, make tracks to the The Borough Box website.
