Enjoy bowls of blissful bites at Newstead’s The Farm Wholefoods

When we think of breakfast, it’s hard to avoid thoughts of poached eggs swimming in hollandaise and crispy bacon on sourdough – but we can’t indulge in this heavenly bounty every morning. That being said, we certainly don’t have to settle for anything unfulfilling! The Farm Wholefoods is a newcomer to Gasworks Plaza that has breakfast (and lunch, for that matter) sorted, with a range of nutritious and tasty bowls that promise to start your day the right way.

There’s a time and place for a fast food hash brown in the morning – sometimes our schedules necessitate the cutting of dietary corners. But don’t think for one second that sourcing a tasty and healthy breakfast takes too much time – especially if you haven’t been to The Farm Wholefoods yet. Founded in 2015 by Sydney foodies Josh and Lisa Thomson, The Farm Wholefoods concept was created to speedily deliver delicious and healthy food in a casual dining atmosphere. The Farm Wholefoods quietly opened the doors to its first Brisbane-based cafe this month, which can be found tucked away in the heart of Gasworks Plaza where it has been drawing in diners with its enticing range of nourishing, quality produce-based goodness. Each location prides itself on supporting local suppliers and producers – sourcing the freshest ingredients for its rustic-yet-appetising culinary offering.

We know you’re curious – so let’s break down the bounty on offer here. You’ll first notice that bowls are a big deal at The Farm Wholefoods – there are ten varied choices ranging across breakfast and lunch. If you are up early, break your fast with the Almighty bowl (featuring sourdough, smashed avocado, bacon and scrambled egg) or the Luxe bowl (poached eggs, smokes salmon, kale, avocado, quinoa and goats cheese). Should you arrive closer to the middle of the day, we suggest sampling the Bento bowl (buckwheat soba noodles, salmon, pickled ginger and edamame beans) or the Burrito bowl (chicken, jalapenos, rice and smashed avocado). Perhaps you’re a busy go-getter (we like your style), so you are going to want to speedily grab something you can eat on the move. The takeaway counter is chock-full of rotating salads, fresh paninis, chia pots, almond milk porridge and even soup. For the health-conscious eaters, The Farm Wholefoods also whips up some tasty smoothie bowls with an acai or matcha base, as well as protein-filled smoothies, cold-pressed juices, coffee (with all the milk substitutes you could want), immunity shots, and tea.
