When The Manhattan Line first opened in the heart of South Bank in 2015 it immediately set tongues wagging with its hip combo of graffiti-coated fit-out, an impressive range of drinks and a menu of eats inspired by the street-food culture of the Big Apple. A second location was always part of the plan, so when a space opened up in Bulimba the team jumped at the opportunity. The Bulimba-based venue (formerly occupied by Commonwealth Bank) was hollowed out and renovated extensively, resulting in a location that is much larger that its South Bank sibling. A new spacious kitchen has been installed in addition to a sizeable bar (complete with a motorcycle as decoration) and plenty of extra floor space that can seat 65 patrons.

Though the vibe and style of service is continuing, The Manhattan Line in Bulimba is by no means a dive bar – rather an edgy eatery that adds ruggedly slick wrinkle to Bulimba’s dining scene. With a larger space comes need for a larger offering, and The Manhattan Line is certainly upping the ante with its Bulimba haunt. In addition to the signature range of hot dogs, The Manhattan Line will also serve up tasty bites including buffalo wings and Alabama chicken burgers. The impressively appointed bar will stock a range of American craft beers, as well as premium drops and local favourites from Green Beacon Brewing. The cocktail selection has also been boosted with the arrival of many more spirits, including an expanded whisky selection, which is great news for die-hard fans of the spirit.
