Pick-me-ups and pieces of pie on offer at North Lakes cafe Told You So

One of the coolest coffee spots in town boasts more than your simple lattes and flat whites – picture coffee sodas, hot chocolate and tasty treats.

North Lakes locals have been giddy with excitement at the prospect of a new top-notch coffee destination to call their own. Told You So recently opened to the public at the Evergreen Centre on Discovery Drive and set about establishing itself as one of the go-to destinations for a pick-me-up and a piece of pie. Owned and operated by coffee lovers Brennan and Anna, the duo honed in on focusing on customer service and getting back to basics. Told You So brings out the best of simple pleasures – those being a good cup of coffee and a tasty treat. The location is small yet crisply furnished, with a clean minimalist aesthetic that conveys warmth with a few quirks. Cabinetmaker Tony Moore was responsible for the fit-out, helping turn Brennan and Anna’s vision into a reality.

The Told You So team has selected Single Origin Roasters for its coffee, using the Paradox Blend as its house selection, while rotating single origins for its black coffee. The offering is simple – there is one cup size for hot coffee with white, black and filter options available. Cold coffees come in white, black and a special coffee soda specialty, which has already become a top seller. Non-coffee drinkers can enjoy Prana chai, hot chocolate from Mork, various teas, cold-press juices from HRVST St as well as a house-made soda that changes weekly. Patrons that are after a snack can enjoy a slice of pie from Firefly Pie Co, with flavours such as lemon meringue, chocolate marshmallow, raspberry honeycomb and Oreo banana cream filling the cabinet.
