Crack a tin of gluten-free beer from TWØBAYS Brewing Co

For an increasing number of people, gluten free is a lifestyle choice but for those living with coeliac disease, it's life. Thankfully a forward-thinking outfit is making life a little bit better with a craft beer that's lactose- and gluten-free.

When Richard Jeffares was diagnosed with coeliac disease in 2015, he was saddened by the prospect of never being able to enjoy a paddle of craft beer with his mates. Sure, gluten-free beer existed but there simply wasn’t the quality or variety that he had previously enjoyed. His hope, however, was restored when Richard took a trip and sipped his way from Portland over to Montreal, discovering gluten-free beer that was as good, if not better, than the beers he remembered. He returned home inspired and launched TWØBAYS Brewing Co in 2017.

TWØBAYS Brewing Co is the first brewing company in Australia dedicated to producing gluten-free craft beers, ones which also happen to be vegan and lactose-free! Since its launch, the range has expanded to include four varieties including an easy-drinking American hopped pale ale, a bitey IPA, a crisp summer ale with hints of mandarin and pineapple and the No Man’s Land XPA, which sits somewhere between a pale ale and an IPA. All of TWØBAYS brews are created in a dedicated gluten-free facility and taproom on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, so coeliacs can enjoy without worrying – in fact, the IPA is endorsed by Coeliac Australia.

If you’re keen to crack a tin of TWØBAYS, take a peek at the handy beer finder to find a local watering hole or if you would prefer to sip at home, you can purchase online from TWØBAYS or Dan Murphy’s.
