Affordable rideshare platform DiDi is set to launch in Brisbane

Set your reminders for next Monday July 22 as a new rideshare service rolls into town, claiming to offer impressively low fares and superior safety procedures.

By now, even your tech-illiterate nanna has more than likely hopped in a rideshare vehicle, and come next week, new player DiDi will be shaking up the Brisbane scene with even more choice. The global mobile transportation platform will be launching its rideshare service DiDi Express to cover the entire Brisbane urban area from Bracalba in the north to Ipswich and Amberley in the west, and Beenleigh in the south. Currently servicing Melbourne, Geelong and Newcastle in Australia, as well as international markets, the platform connects 550 million active users around the globe to safe and affordable rides.

Boasting the tagline ‘The Lowfare Rideshare’, DiDi is said to be on average up to 10 percent more affordable than other comparable rideshare offerings in the market, while also ensuring that 94.5 percent of every fare goes directly to the driver. The platform has also come up with some clever safety measures, such as the rider’s ability to share their location in real-time and let friends and family track their trip live. Riders who sign up to the Brisbane service before its launch next week will receive special discount offers, while all registered users will be able to enjoy one free ride (to the value of $20 each trip) on each of the six currently designated DiDiDAYs (Saturdays July 27, August 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31). Find more info online, and download the app via the App Store or Google Play.
