Double Double fuses iconic boutiques Apartment and Violent Green to become one creative powerhouse

When beloved Brisbane boutiques Apartment and Violent Green moved in together late last year, we were chuffed. The two retailers share a storied history together – from their Elizabeth Arcade beginnings to their next-door neighbour status on Albert Street, right through to cohabiting under one roof in their current Queen Street digs. The joining of their respective spaces has led to a further glorious fusion of Apartment and Violent Green – give the past a fond wave goodbye and welcome Double Double to the table as the stores combine to form a singular entity.

Double Double is the culmination of years of friendship and collaboration. Violent Green’s Simon and Kimberley Sun and Apartment’s Nick and Ben Chiu have been supporting each other’s growth since day dot, with each store carving out a reputation as the place to go for premium street fashion. This long-evolving relationship has logically progressed to a fusion of the two entities, offering all of the team involved more resources, time, and creative freedom to expand their vision. While the names may be gone, the commitment certainly isn’t – the team will be using their combined passion and expertise to curate an offering that is even stronger than their previous output. After all, it would be impossible to erase the legacies of Apartment and Violent Green.

Moving forward, Double Double will be using its power to create a digital editorial platform that will widen the scope of its wildly talented team even further. Attached to the store’s website, this domain will be dedicated to highlighting and celebrating fellow creatives, shining a spotlight on those who are emerging in their fields. You can expect to find interviews and features across music, film, art, culture and more, as well as articles ranging in focus from ultra-local to a global scale. This online endeavour is a further extension of the Double Double focus and ethos – striving to uncover and celebrate the best in the creative realms it explores.

Double Double is operating under its brand-new identity at the former location of Apartment and Violent Green on Queen Street – check out the Stumble Guide for more information.
