At the best of times, scouring the body wash aisle at the supermarket for the perfect scrub can be an ordeal for blokes. Thankfully, Brisbane locals and husband and wife duo Heath and Alicia have come forth with a great skincare solution for dudes in the form of Gentleman’s Lather – a handmade soap brand that is removing the complication from showering. The tandem has taken a craft brewing approach to its small-batch soap making, incorporating a range of artisan ingredients and made using a cold-process method.

Gentleman’s Lather launched in April 2017 with six kinds of soap featuring ingredients such as garden mint, Earl Grey tea, olive oil and craft beer. The brand aligns itself with local producers, incorporating some iconic Brisbane goods in its process. Honey and beeswax from Bee One Third and beer from Burleigh Brewing feature in the range. Heath and Alicia are already working towards expanding the range to include beard oils and balms, creating a comprehensive skincare option for gents across town. All soaps are biodegradable, synthetic surfactant and detergent-free and are made over a six-week curing process. Gentleman’s Lather is currently available online, at it’s base of operations in Graceville, from Burleigh Brewing Co’s Taphouse and at The Farm in Byron Bay.
