Ahoy, captain! GoBoat sets sail with its electric picnic boat hire pop-up in Kangaroo Point

Have you ever daydreamed about what it would be like to cruise along the Brown Snake on your own private boat while sipping on bubbles and grazing on a charcuterie board? Your dreams are about to become a reality friends, as electric-boat rental company GoBoat has finally hit the local waterways – setting up a pop-up dock at Kangaroo Point. Pop on some Rod Stewart and wear your best nautical outfit, because we are going sailing.

Our mates in the Gold Coast have been lucky enough to experience the pure joy of getting out on a GoBoat and, finally, now it’s Brisbane’s turn. On Thursday April 22, the fleet of electric picnic hire boats will drop anchor at a pop-up location at Dockside Marina at Kangaroo Point. From here, eager sailors will be able to pilot one of six Danish-designed eight-seater boats on the Brisbane river. The best part? You don’t even need a boat license. Safety is key though, and skippers and their crew will receive a thorough safety briefing and demonstration prior to jumping on board.

Sticking around for a limited time only, the pop-up comes as a little pre-show teaser for what will be GoBoat’s official launch at Breakfast Creek in the coming months – so, take this as your chance to practise your cruising skills! Water babies can book sessions from one to five hours in length, starting at $109 for one hour, with the price-per-hour decreasing the longer the booking. If you’ve got a furry friend tagging along, not to worry, as GoBoat is pet-friendly too. To make a booking (there’s limited spots available), pop over to the GoBoat website.
