Hip-hop and sneakers go together like peas and carrots – it’s a simple fact. The two cultures are so intrinsically linked that it just makes sense when artists and brands link up to collaborate. Sometimes these pairings end up being a dubious cash-grab, with poor adoring fans buying the shoes simply because a name is attached. Other times, the world is gifted with a collection that is totally and genuinely rad – a case in point being the teaming up of Tyler, the Creator and Converse to create GOLF le FLEUR*

When it comes to human beings, they don’t get much cooler than Tyler, the Creator. The prodigious hip-hop superstar best known as being the leader and co-founder of the Odd Future collective has been turning heads since day dot, mostly due to his brash style, youthful demeanour and wild sense of imagination. This ethos carries over into his aesthetic, which is what made him the perfect candidate for a collaboration with sneaker giants Converse. The fruits of this union are GOLF le FLEUR*, a sleek, simple and joyful capsule collection that truly pops.

The latest instalment of the Converse x GOLF le FLEUR* collection features three new bright pastel colourways of the One Star sneaker silhouette, with shades of jade lime, geranium pink and bachelor blue all making an appearance. You can also get your hands on some fresh apparel including a pullover logo hoodie available in five colours, plus a logo t-shirt available in four colours.

The new GOLF le FLEUR* collection drops today, Thursday January 18. Apartment has the exclusive in Brisbane, so run (don’t walk) to nab the goods from 11:00 am – any stock not sold in store will go online at 2:00 pm. If you can’t make it, the collection is also available online through Converse. Be warned that this is going to sell out, so if you like what you see don’t sleep on it!
