The brainchild of Julia and Jordy Kay, Great Wrap is a plant-based alternative to the handy (but not exactly eco-friendly) kitchen staple that helps keep our food fresh. So how did they come up with the idea? In a very Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion-esque move, the pair developed a plant-based resin mix from PLA (otherwise known as corn starch) and a bio-based PBA. It took them more than 18 hard-working months to perfect the Great Wrap formula, enlisting help from professors, industry experts, manufacturers and suppliers along the way. The end product, Great Wrap, breaks down quicker than an orange peel and is able to be composted in your garden or can be thrown in your green waste bin – how good is that?

Unlike its great grandpa Glad Wrap, Great Wrap is certified compostable and biodegradable, meaning it is able to breakdown in a compost pile in under 180 days and leaves behind zero toxins as well.
