New subscription streaming service iwonder launches in Australia

The glorious streaming universe has expanded a little more this month, with the launch of iwonder, a new international streaming service dedicated to documentaries and current affairs.

Boasting the tagline “Where to find the great untold stories”, iwonder is the great new hope for viewers who are both time poor and bored of the current light entertainment options available on other streaming platforms. An artfully curated catalogue of critically acclaimed documentaries and up-to-the-minute current affairs programs span topics from music to sport, religion to science, politics to culture, art to environment, and beyond. Rather than indecisive viewers mindlessly scrolling through offerings, iwonder also offers program suggestions based on trending news stories and current events, aiming to give context to what’s happening around the world.

The current line-up at time of writing includes Alt-Right: Age of Rage, Dirty Business, Champagne with Dictators, Trump / Russia, Kurt & Courtney, Rolling Stone: Stories from the Edge and Ten Billion. The subscription service allows for unlimited viewing with no ads, and each account can have up to five devices registered with up to two streams playing simultaneously. Viewers can watch on their computers, via the iwonder app on their phones or cast to TV using Apple TV or Chromecast. New features will continue to roll out, such as a personalised watchlist for later viewing. The global video service has launched in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, with its sights set on additional markets by the end of the year.
