From October to April, everyone in Brisbane turns into a hot mess. We’re sweaty, frizzy and sunburnt – but that’s just the way we like it. Local designer Phoebe Paradise is celebrating what is essentially every Queenslander’s natural state with her new collection called Hot Mess. The range features Phoebe’s signature art style, which blends colour and creativity in equal measure. The range is inspired by summer nights, Olympic dreams and feeling what Phoebe describes as a ‘humid, heatstroke-afflicted, Alex Mack-style puddle of goo’.
Hot Mess features a range of garments boasting an array of summery prints. Add the likes of long swing dresses, tumble robes, tees, blouses, denim wrap skirts, swimmers, earrings, socks and patches to your wardrobe, and get ready for whatever weather the day throws at you. If you are lusting after some Phoebe Paradise staples, look through racks of clothing at the pop-up at Junky Comics on March 25–26, while also browsing a selection of painted mural art and installations.
