Elevate your basics – Silk Laundry opens its anticipated James Street boutique

Few materials add as much a sense of luxury to our lives as silk. Soft to the touch and sweet on the eyes, there’s a reason that the phrase ‘silky smooth’ is so commonly used. Silk Laundry is a sustainability-focused label that specialises in silk basics for everyday wear. If you like the sound of that, then you’ll like the sound of this – Silk Laundry is opening its first bricks-and-mortar store on James Street this Saturday April 21.

Silk Laundry began with a simple idea – a modern interpretation of the iconic 90s silk slip dress. From this humble beginning, Silk Laundry has quickly become a highly coveted brand, expanding in scope to offer a range of silk basics that feel as if one is wearing a sensual cloud. After earning a loyal following with its range of stylish pieces, Silk Laundry is almost ready to open the doors of its first physical retail outlet on one of Brisbane’s most fashionable promenades – James Street.

The store draws inspiration from founder Katie Kolodinski’s singular artistic vision, with colour and materials that seek to resonate with shoppers looking for something different. Sustainability remains a key focus, with stock on hand designed and built to last consistent wear. Come Saturday, silk seekers can get their hands on Silk Laundry’s wares, which includes the new winter range featuring the silk slip dress in a range of new colourways, plus silk shirts, camisoles and scrunchies.
