Rack city – SWOP opens a new home for pre-loved style and eclectic cool

West End's SWOP Clothing Exchange has been one of Brisbane’s best locations for vintage discoveries for years, and for good reason! This emporium for trendy thrift finds is a reliable source for savvy shoppers thanks to its constantly evolving range of gear, which is why were pretty darn excited to announce that SWOP has opened a new location in the heart of The City. We’re talking a sizeable range of garments from dreamy denim to fabulous frocks and everything in between – SWOP is a new one-stop shop for inner-city style seekers.

Up a few flights of steps above the hustle of Adelaide Street sits SWOP Clothing Exchange’s second Brisbane location, which quietly opened its doors in mid-September. Not long after the dust settled from the opening of SWOP’s Sydney boutique did the brains behind the operation decide to do it all over again back in Brisbane, aiming to uncover a new demographic with a central location in The City. The racks at West End were already overflowing with new threads, so the opening of a new location was a no-brainer. The shop itself is spacious with plenty of room for wardrobe montages, and is an oasis amongst The City’s gargantuan department stores.

SWOP’s collection is built around a strong ethos of sustainability and affordability, with nearly all garments coming from the local community. The range eschews fast-fashion brands in favour of vintage and retro brands and a select amount of modern pieces. Many items in SWOP’s collection are being given a second or third chance at life, which goes a long way to minimising waste and supporting responsible shopping. The new Brisbane City store is currently stocked with a great range of summer dresses and plenty of other colourful garments, as well as a range of corporate wear for trendy types with desk jobs. Like its West End sibling, SWOP Brisbane City buys and exchanges your pre-loved threads, but The City location accepts appointments throughout the week, not just on Fridays. You can book in a time through SWOP’s website.

SWOP Clothing Exchange is open now! For opening hours and contact details, check out the Stumble Guide.
