Tony’s Chop Shop Barbershop starts snipping at Coorparoo Square

One of the finest scissor smiths in Brisbane has set up shop in one of the sharpest (and newest) food precincts. Tony’s Chop Shop Barbershop has moved from its grungy Fortitude Valley digs to a crisp new spot at Coorparoo Square, offering the classic treatments with a splash of sophistication.

For the past few years, Tony Micale has been offering fresh cuts to Brisbane gents from a space inside Smoked Garage in Fortitude Valley. Seeking to spread his wings and secure a space of his own, Tony recently shifted operations to Coorparoo Square, opening Tony’s Chop Shop Barbershop in the latter stages of 2017. With a blank canvas to work with Tony has sculpted the space that evokes a classic and timeless aesthetic – bringing together old and new elements to create his perfect working space. Antique Chesterfield couches line one wall, while herringbone timber floors and marble bench tops were installed. Tony’s pride and joy is the Belmot barber chairs, which were built in the 1950s and still retain the classic aura of generations past. Take a seat and let Tony work his magic.

Swing by for a haircut, restyle, beard trim, or cutthroat shave while sipping on an espresso, beer or even a snifter of whiskey, which comes served in Waterford Crystal rocks glasses. As far as barbershop experiences go, this pretty luxurious. Tony’s Chop Shop Barbershop also stocks products from Layrite, muk, Australian Apothecary, Uppercut Deluxe, Treuefitt & Hill and Baxter of California. If you are a watch collector, you can even browse a selection of goods from Ars Capsa. Give Tony a call to make a booking, or stop by – walk-in appointments are also welcome.
