Calling all beach boys – Zimmermann drops its first-ever boardshort capsule for men

Since its inception in 1991, Zimmermann has captured the hearts of the world with its dreamy, femme and whimsical wares. Up until recently, the brand’s instantly recognisable aesthetic has strictly been the domain of the ladies … but all of this has just changed. Zimmermann has just dropped its first-ever boardshort capsule collection designed entirely with men in mind.

After countless outside enquiries as to when a men’s collection was coming, Zimmermann’s creative director Nicky Zimmermann has finally lifted the lid on the brand’s rad new line. As a lady who grew up by the beach, Nicky had often toyed with the idea of launching something fun and different for the men’s swimwear market. As it turns out, the opening of the brand’s stunning new Saint Tropez store was the perfect time to release a little something for the boys – and the results are a true treat.

The Zimmerman boardshort capsule features two distinct cuts – the Boardie is a classic length sitting just above the knee, while the Shortie is a retro mid-thigh grazer. Both lengths boast a square cut with top-stitched hip pockets and elasticated waist for comfort, as well as a quick-dry mesh undergarment to keep everything in place. The four colourways of olive, burgundy, old gold and navy are emblazoned with a leafy Batik motif splashed in hints of midnight blue, peach and neon to make the print pop. Thoughtful details like the cotton spindle cord with matching coloured enamel eyelet and cord hardware are aligned with Zimmermann’s classic design.

Want to get your hands on some Zimmermann men’s goodies? If you can’t make it to the Saint Tropez, East Hampton or Miami boutiques (sigh), you can shop the full collection online.
