Tucked away just off West End’s Montague Road is Ash & Monties, a cosy and welcoming cafe owned and operated by chef Lorenzo Nobilio and Richard Mastro. The duo opened Ash & Monties in early 2015 in what was previously an unused garage. After furnishing the space with furniture from kerbside collections and recycled timber, Lorenzo and Richard set about crafting the perfectly sized menu to entice patrons. The menu rotates fortnightly, providing roughly seven fresh options to patrons for breakfast and lunch. Although the available cuisine is constantly evolving, there will always be a select few staples including hot dogs, quesadillas and salads that are cooked fresh to order. All produce is sourced from farmers markets in the area and freshness is guaranteed.
