Melbourne duo consisting of Michael Nham and Viet Nguyen certainly aren’t ones to rest on their laurels. The minds behind Melbourne’s popular Vietnamese eatery Banoi (boasting two locations already) brought the concept north to Brisbane. Opening on King Street next to burger joint  Super Combo (which the boys opened with childhood friend Hao Vu) in June 2017, Banoi solidifies the precinct as a bonafide dining mecca. The homestyle Vietnamese cuisine at Banoi follows a very similar vibe to its two Melbourne siblings, with traditional Vietnamese eats inspired by Michael’s grandmother’s recipes, such as steamed Vietnamese taco buns filled with slow-cooked pork belly or tempura soft-shell crab, fried salt and pepper chicken ribs, Vietnamese crispy pancakes, fresh-baked banh mi and more. Lunch crowds can take advantage of weekly specials, with a takeaway counter available for grab-and-go rice paper rolls and baguettes.
