When it comes to Brisbane’s best cafes, Billykart Kitchen boasts one of the most illustrious resumes going. The brainchild of legendary chef Ben O’Donoghue and De’Arne Wicks, Billykart Kitchen’s original location in Annerley is a veritable brunch institution. Inhabiting a revamped corner store location, Billykart blends throwback charm with a modern offering. The 80-seater eatery serves up a menu of casual fare made from seasonal local produce, served with a smile by a top-flight front-of-house team. Guests are treated to breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, ranging from simple day starters (fresh house made crumpets with honeycomb butter and crispy corn fritters with guacamole) and substantial brunch items (Boston baked beans with kransky, fermented cabbage and a hash brown), to gorgeous lunch dishes (Billykart fish tacos with chipotle and pineapple), and incredible evening fare (butter-poached Moreton Bay bug rolls, twice-cooked pork belly with guava and chipotle chilli jam). As if that wasn’t enough, Billykart Kitchen is also licensed, with wine, beer and classic cocktails available for folks to sample with their meal of choice.
