When the poké craze swept through Brisbane, Cheeky Poke Bar was at its forefront. Not long after setting up its flagship at Newstead’s Haven precinct, the crew opened a smaller location at West Village’s The Garden Pantry, cementing its presence as a go-to destination for fresh bowls and poké tacos. As the demand for freshly-made poké has grown, Sam Demetriou and his family decided to to a bit of future proofing by smartly opening a commercial kitchen on the cusp of Greenslopes and Stones Corner. Seeking a stable base from which to produce and control the rate of expansion, Sam overhauled the formerly inconspicuous spot, not only installing a sizeable kitchen but also a handy grab-and-go kiosk to draw in walk-by customers and to expand its delivery radius. The commercial kitchen sources, cuts and distributes fresh whole fish daily, ensuring quality is spread across all locations. Cheeky Poke XPRS currently hawks the brand’s beloved range of bowls and poké tacos, and come June will grow to also include the popular selection of soups. All Cheeky Poke Bar locations undergo slight seasonal changes, with new proteins and toppings popping in an out depending on what is freshest in the moment.
