After moving to Australia and spending five years as a business banker, Ian succumbed to his love of coffee and jumped into the caffeine scene head first with an express coffee van (which still operates today at the Davies Park Markets). Now Ian operates two Coffee Mentality locations in South Brisbane and Albion – two cosy coffee dispensaries that offer patrons an unparalleled level of choice that belies each outpost’s size. Di Bella is the roast of choice here, but Coffee Mentality also employs a personalised roasting service for those seeking a bean or blend from a particular part of the world. Small batches of coffee from the far reaches of the globe can be ordered for your morning pick-me-up, while various brewing apparatus are on hand for those seeking a particular style, creating a service perfect for any die-hard coffee connoisseur. For Ian, coffee offers not only a way to create happiness amongst the community, but to also provide career and education opportunities for similarly passionate souls.
