Brisbane Showgrounds’ King Street dining precinct experienced a huge boom throughout 2016 with the opening of The George Bar and BistroGG Espresso and Fat Dumpling in August and Sushi & Nori in October. November saw another addition to the street from Sushi & Nori’s Sunny Kim, who has brought Australia’s first Hello Chicken restaurant to town. Hello Chicken dishes out Korean-style fried chicken from its Kombi Van takeaway and eat-in restaurant, with flavours ranging from original crispy fried chicken, soy garlic chicken, Korean chilli chicken, snow cheese chicken and crazy-hot chilli chicken in whole or half-bird portions. Crispy chips come salted, spicy or with cheese, while coleslaw, skewered rice cakes, celery and cucumber pickles, and beetroot and radish pickles are also available on the side. Thirsty? Hello Chicken also serves soft drinks, tap beer and wine, with cocktails to come in the future.
