Let those words sink in. Baked. Cheese. Tart. We’ve been dreaming of these babies ever since our friends on the Gold Coast wrote of the arrival of Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart (HBCT) at Pacific Fair in July 2017. Finally the pastry delights arrived in Brisbane with not one, but two venues. The first Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart store opened The Myer Centre in late November, offering up hundreds of these decadent treats for all to enjoy. We know what you’re thinking – what exactly is a baked cheese tart? Allow us to enlighten you. Imagine a crunchy shortcrust pastry contrasted by a fluffy, creamy filling, famous for its richness, moreish sweet/savoury taste and tantalising cheesy aroma. The tarts come in original cheese, blueberry and chocolate flavours, but you can sample all three if you opt for a take-home pack. Hint, hint.
