Housed in the Judith Wright Centre for Contemporary Arts, the Institute of Modern Art is Australia’s oldest contemporary art space. The IMA runs a program of exhibitions and events featuring emerging and established local, national and international artists with a strong focus on publishing, moving image, sound art and new music. Founded in 1975, the non-commercial gallery features a number of different gallery spaces boasting paintings, sculptures, ceramics and glasswork, with both permanent and temporary exhibitions.
